Neutrogena T-Gel, Nizoral

These are the only two dandruff shampoos I have used because I mistakenly believed I had dandruff.  I actually have dry scalp.  If you read my review for Head and Shoulders on here you can read more about the difference.  If you suffer from eczema you should reconsider if a dandruff shampoo is for you.  These shampoos both dried out my scalp and made my flakes worse.  So keep that in mind.  Dandruff also usually occurs on people who have oily skin – not dry.

Nizoral also was once available only by prescription.

Both of these products are highly reviewed so if you DO have dandruff give it a try but otherwise – avoid.
